February 1-7 Book Porn

There are 8 books received/purchased this week pictured here, with a ninth, the fifth volume of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman series, A Game of You, accidentally left out of these three photos. Seven of these were purchased, with two being review copies sent to me. I have already read four of these nine, with comments reserved until I make my weekly Books Read post later tonight.

Left: Brian Evenson, The Open Curtain (comments later); Brian Evenson, Dark Property (again, comments later); Robert Conroy, 1942 (review copy; alt-history exploring what would have happened if the Japanese had pressed forward after their December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. Might read this later, but uncertain as to when).




Left: Kay Kenyon, City Without End (third volume in her The Entire and the Rose series. Planning on reading it this afternoon); Jim Theis, The Eye of Argon (will comment later, although this book ultimately will be a gift to a special someone in my life); Ernesto "Che" Guevara, Diaros de Motocicleta: Notas de viaje por América Latina (OK, so it's a Che book. I'm curious to see how it reads in the original Spanish).




Left: Anne Bishop, The Shadow Queen (Black Jewels-set story. Doubtful that I'll read it, since I haven't read any of her works to date and I suspect I couldn't do a fair review of it); Samuel Beckett, I Can't Go On, I'll Go On: A Samuel Beckett Reader (bought this Thursday when browsing the local bookstore for a copy of Malloy, which I really want to read after my recent interview with Brian Evenson, where he praises Beckett as being an influence on his writing).
